Shades is a relationship orientated black comic strip that engages the notions of love, romance, dating and marriage in the heterosexual, gay, lesbian and interracial community of black men and black women. The Shades comic strip does not make political statements on soapboxes of ego, we simply shed light and embrace some of our culture's more prominent insecurities and fears when it comes to marriage, romance, dating, and love.

Love is precarious existence at best. No true finite definition exists to accurately and completely define it's true nature.

Shades is a black comic strip that reflects on the similarities between black men and black women, and focuses on personal acceptance, human understanding and social consideration between the sexes.
