Internet or Intercourse

"Are you single? Lonely? looking for love?

Then maybe you should look into broadening your search. (if you ARE searching) How? Well... moving is one way... going meet people is another. but where??? As we close the 20th century our technology has given us a simpler recourse. THE INTERNET  it seems to simple huh? but how many of your friends do you know that have met their mates on the INTERNET? their courting seems so simple, yet the complexity is outrageous.

The Internet has grown beyond anyone's wildest imagination, connecting more and more people to new information, new ideas and curious people.

Meeting people online seems to be socially unacceptable to some skeptics, (most deny online affairs) but the question is then raised: what makes meeting someone online different then meeting someone on the street, or by conventional methods? In essence, nothing. Shouldn't the same precautions be administered.  You still need to know and understand the person, and in both instances you need to get beyond those infamous  first impressions . The difference is in the interaction. Many people believe there is a big difference between talking to someone and typing to someone. Many people are not able to get over the fact that there is potential uncertainty. Exchanging pictures and confronting someone are two different things. Even if you get a picture, how do you know it is them?  Many of us are not risk takers and do not want to take that chance on something such as love.
There are alternatives to being caught up by so many of these "potentials." Chat rooms are a good source of potential friends. One should not get adventurous and make attempts to meet someone out of your immediate area. Maybe you can keep the relations as close as possible to where you live and yet far enough to keep you comfortable. Or perhaps keeping all of your chatting on friendly levels, until you are sure that both parties wish to pursuit some type of offline relations. Take it in steps! This means talk in a chat room, or send a few emails. Get acquainted first. Try to send as many pictures to each other as possible. This strengthens the confidence on both sides. Progressively move toward phone conversations and meeting with friends. Taking things slow online and off, will create a confidence that will work in your favor. Remember that the Internet is an electronic medium and NOT a fantasy world. Don't be ashamed to broaden your horizons using the Internet.
